چکیده
This study showed that under specifically defined conditions with respect to nucleic acid extraction method and testing reagents, a previously described real-time reverse transcription-PCR (rRT-PCR) assay (T1 assay) provides sensitivity equal to or higher than that of virus isolation for the detection of equine arteritis virus in semen.

Development and Evaluation of Real-Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction Test for Quantitative and Qualitative Recognition of H5 Subtype of Avian Influenza Viruses
Avian influenza viruses (AIV) affect a wide range of birds and mammals, cause severe economic damage to the poultry industry, and pose a serious threat to humans. Highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses (HPAI) H5N1 were first identified in Southeast Asia in 1996 and spread to four continents over the following years. The viruses have caused high mortality in chickens and various bird species ...
متن کاملTwo in-House One-Step rRT-PCR Assays, Developed for Accurate and Rapid Molecular Identification of Newcastle Disease Virus, on the basis of SYBR Green and Specific TaqMan Probe
Background and Aims: Newcastle disease virus (NDV) is an avian paramyxovirus (A-PMV 1) and one of the major pathogens in poultries. Vaccination is intended to control the disease, nevertheless this virus is a growing threat to the poultry industry. So, early detection of the virus can prevent the spread of illness and avoid huge economic losses. Towards this goal, in this research, we develop...
متن کاملEvaluation of Nucleic Acid Sequence Based Amplification (NASBA) and Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction for Detection of Coxsackievirus B3 in Cell Culture and Animal Tissue Samples
Enteroviruses are the causative agents of a number of diseases in humans. Group B coxsackieviruses are believed to be the most common viral agents responsible for human heart disease. Genomic data of enteroviruses has allowed developing new molecular approaches such as Nucleic Acid Sequence Based Amplification (NASBA) for detection of such viruses. In this study, coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3) was de...
متن کاملUse of an internal standard in a closed one-tube RT-PCR for the detection of equine arteritis virus RNA with fluorescent probes.
Routine detection of equine arteritis virus (EAV) can be achieved by virus isolation (VI) in cell culture, or by the amplification of viral genome by molecular methods. To simplify molecular diagnosis, a number of different Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and RT-nested PCR (RT-nPCR) assays were compared, and a one-tube method was developed and optimised utilizing a fluo...
متن کاملUse of bacteriophage MS2 as an internal control in viral reverse transcription-PCR assays.
Diagnostic systems based on reverse transcription (RT)-PCR are widely used for the detection of viral genomes in different human specimens. The application of internal controls (IC) to monitor each step of nucleic acid amplification is necessary to prevent false-negative results due to inhibition or human error. In this study, we designed various real-time RT-PCRs utilizing the coliphage MS2 re...
